Border Pass Form!

Castle form!

We bought the 7946 King's Castle as an addition to our growing medieval collection; today, we are proud owners of 10193 Medieval Market Village, 10223 Kingdoms Joust and 7188 King's Carriage Ambush. We intend to build up a medieval kingdom using these sets - we encourage all readers to watch this space!

The 7946's King Castle can be played either as a castle or a border pass; regardless of form, the objective is the same: the Lion troops, led by the King, aim to keep out the Dragon army, led by the Knight. The set comes with 5 Lion and 3 Dragon minifigs, together with a warhorse and a rat.
The set can be played in either form, although for standalone purposes the castle form would make for a better display. Together with other sets, it would probably be more fun to have the 7946 King's Castle as a border pass.
As usual, we have a more complete write-up in the extended post. Stay tuned for our future posts about building up our medieval kingdom collection!

Little Yellow Brick Pick #8 - 7188 King's Carriage Ambush

Lookie look!

We were blessed with this King's Carriage Ambush set over the Christmas holidays last year. :)

Prior to receiving this set, we were considering collecting the Lego Kingdoms series but decided to drop the idea due to space constraints. Our favourites are the 7946 King's Castle and 10223 Kingdoms Joust, which we have since bought!

Add these Lego Kingdom Series sets to the 10193 Medieval Market Village, and do you see what we are trying to achieve? :) Watch this space!

Little Yellow Brick Pick #7 - 7946 King's Castle

Look what just joined our Lego Kingdoms Series!

Can be converted into a border pass!

This magnificent, out-of-production set comes with a Lion King (it's a human minifig, not an animal!) and warhorse, two Lion foot soldiers, two Lion archers, one Dragon Knight, one Dragon foot soldier and one Dragon archer. The building structure can be displayed either in castle/fortress form or as a border pass (think Great Wall of Lego). Together with our 10193 Medieval Market Village and 10223 Kingdoms Joust, we are slowly building up a Castle/Kingdoms collection! Stayed tuned for our entry on building up the 7946 King's Castle!

As mentioned in our previous post, we had a change of heart for this set. With its numerous minifigs, animals and eye-catching palette of colours, the 10193 Medieval Market Village was simply a set that had to be part of our collection!

Released in 2009 as part of the Castle series, the 10193 Medieval Market Village makes a great standalone set. It comes with two buildings - a tavern and a blacksmith-stable - which can be be played in open and closed format. Contrast this with our Winter Village series, where the buildings are only half complete and can only be displayed from the front. Another reason why we had bought this set was that it was a good fit with sets from the Lego Kingdoms Series, from which we have already purchased the 10223 Kingdoms Joust. The 10193 Medieval Market Village does not come with any mythical creatures such as trolls or dragons, so we did not have to face the dilemma of abandoning any Lego pieces.
There are many parts to our building experience, and we think it would best do this set justice if we analyzed in detail with pictures in the extended post below. Do be warned - it will be a long read, but we hope you won't be disappointed! As usual, do stay tuned for our future posts!
